Welcome to the Logical Tuning BHP Estimator.
What is BHP?
BHP (Brake Horse Power) is the unit of measure that is used to determine how
fast your car can go. This would normally be done on a rolling road at any good
performance centre, however there is a cost involved, so "Hadyn" here
at LT decided to do his magic, and created a calculation for allowing us to
estimate just that. This calculation is not overly complex, but for those of you
who hate math's we went one better, and got "Combitz" to create a
little program for you to use to make the whole thing painless. Now thanks to
Jonathon who hosts this site, this application is free for you all to use.
What's the catch? Well! you need some figures for the program
to work with.
You require the weight of your car including the driver, and you need a quarter
mile terminal speed, e.g. the speed that your car passes the finishing line on a
quarter of a mile run at any drag racing strip in the world.
Please note that these figures do not have to be exact as it is
only an estimate as many things can alter the outcome on the day and this is by
no means meant to replace a rolling road!
